Her Freedom is not negotiable!

Building what repression cannot erase

In Afghanistan women are being systematically denied education, healthcare, the right to work and safe connection. These are basic human rights that are being denied. Women’s rights are not a privilege.

Malalai Foundation exists to deliver and support ethical, secure, and technology-enabled solutions for Afghan women living under extreme and sustained repression.

This is long-term work — designed for endurance, not headlines; for safety, not spectacle; and for impact that outlasts the current moment.

The Reality

Afghanistan is widely considered the most restrictive country in the world for women's rights. The erosion of women’s rights in Afghanistan is intentional and structural and is not for religious reasons.
Girls cannot go to school
Maternal and midwifery training programs have been dismantled
Women’s access to healthcare is limited and shrinking
Digital spaces are monitored, restricted, or shut down
Girls are restricted from most types of employment
Women cannot leave the house unless accompanied by a man
The result is not only immediate harm, but the systematic erasure of knowledge, health, and opportunity across generations.

How We Work

Malalai Foundation works directly with Afghan women, trusted local partners and discreet professional networks operating inside and outside Afghanistan.

Our approach is Afghan led, community grounded, designed for low visibility, high safety, high impact and guided by medical technological and ethical expertise

Core Focus Areas

Women’s Health & Maternal Care
Voice, Visibility & Community Building

Your contribution fuels our impact

Research
Identifying the most urgent and overlooked gaps in women’s access to healthcare, education and safe communication under restrictive regimes, guided by evidence, expertise andlived realities.
Awareness & Visibility
Keeping these crises visible at a time when global attention has faded even as conditions continue to deteriorate. Silence enables repressions. Visibility interrupts it.
Responsible development of digital tools
Exploring and developing AI-enabled tools, secure communication frameworks and digital platforms that support learning, health guidance and connection without exposing women to further risk.
